Version 1.7.2 - 12th June 2009

Version 1.7.2 of AstroGrav is an upgrade containing a range of minor improvements and bug fixes. This information is intended for existing users who are already familiar with AstroGrav and want to quickly find out about the main changes. This is a free upgrade for customers who have already purchased a license, so that all you need to do is download Version 1.7.2 and use it in place of your old version. If you have any problems with this new version, please don't hesitate to contact us so that we can help you out.

Version 1.7.2 of AstroGrav has the following new and improved features.

Saving and Restoring Family Patterns

Version 1.7.2 of AstroGrav includes a facility to allow you to save and restore family patterns. When using the Edit / New Family... command, there used to be no way for you to save the settings for a new family for later use. There are now Open... and Save As... buttons that allow you to do this. If you click on the Save As... button, a file chooser will be displayed that allows you to save the settings for the new family in a location of your choice. If you later click on the Open... button, a file chooser will be displayed that allows you to restore the settings for the new family. The files used for storing family patterns are XML files, and so can also be viewed or changed with a text editor.

Sample Simulation Changes

Version 1.7.2 of AstroGrav includes the following changes to the sample simulations.

  • The Comet Gehrels 3 sample simulation has been added.
  • The Disaster! sample simulation has been added.

Other Improvements

Version 1.7.2 of AstroGrav also has many other minor improvements and bug fixes, including the following.

  • A bug has been fixed that caused a very slow response to an attempt to select a large number of objects - for example, using the Edit / Select All command.
  • The keyboard shortcut for the Evolve / Run Backward command now works correctly.
  • Expanding and collapsing a tree node can now only be done by using its handle, and not by double-clicking on it (which opens the object editor).
  • A bug has been fixed that caused the preference for opening the root node of trees to be ignored in some cases.
  • There are several minor improvements to the documentation and tutorial.
