View / View From...   ()

Summary

Sets the viewpoint in the active view window.

Description

When you select this command, a dialog will be displayed that allows you to choose the viewpoint in the active view window. This dialog gives you the following choices.

• Floating allows you to choose a viewpoint that is floating in space, and not attached to any particular object.

• Star allows you to choose a particular background star as the viewpoint. You specify which particular background star in the adjacent text field. The option to view from a background star is only available in solar system simulations.

• Object allows you to choose a particular object as the viewpoint. You specify which particular object in the adjacent text field.

• Location allows you to choose a particular location on an object (such as the Earth) as the viewpoint. You specify which particular location in the adjacent popup menu. The option to view from a particular location on an object is only available in solar system simulations.

• Home allows you to choose your home location as the viewpoint. The option to view from your home location is only available in solar system simulations.
