Total Eclipse 2024 Apr 08

This simulation shows the total eclipse of the sun on 8th April 2024, as seen from the following twelve different viewpoints.

Top row, left to right:

Middle row, left to right:

Bottom row, left to right:

The eclipse is total in the four locations in the middle row. The locations in the top row are all to the north-west of the track of totality, and the locations in the bottom row are all to the south-east of the track of totality. Lines of altitude and azimuth can be seen in the background.

If you set the simulation running, you can watch the eclipse progress at each of the twelve locations. Since different computers run at different speeds, you may need to edit the evolution time step to get the simulation to run at an acceptable rate.
